CHRISTI CATHOLIC CHURCH PARISH YOUTH COUNCIL

The Parish Youth Council (PYC) believe that it is through unity that the interest of the youth will be safeguarded, establish dignity, solidarity and fraternity among the youth societies in order to uphold our esteemed arrowed slogan “Corpus Christi Youth, Unity without limit”

Aims and Objectives:

The core objectives of the Parish Youth Council are:

• To spearhead and coordinate the activities of the various youth groups in the Church.
• To serve as an effective communication channel between all the youth groups within the Church and the Parish Pastoral Council (P.P.C).
• To organize meetings and programs and offer platforms for discussions aimed at addressing the basic needs of the youth in the Parish.
• To organise spiritual and social programmes for the youth in the Parish to grow and develop their spiritual and interpersonal relationships.

Composition of the council

• Three representatives (President, Secretary and Organizer) of all recognised youth groups in the church
• The Priest’s nominees

Aside the above, the Parish Priest, Youth Chaplain and coordinators are automatically members and advisors to the Council.

Youth Groups under PYC

There are 9 youth groups/societies under the council, which are:

• Knights and Ladies of The Altar (KNOLTA)
• Christian Daughter’s Association
• Catholic Charismatic Renewal Youth Wing
• St. Catherine’s Creatives
• Knight of St. John’s International- Junior Auxiliary and Cadet
• Junior Knights and Ladies of Marshall
• Children's Service
• 16-24 Age Category
• 25 plus Age Category

Meetings

The PYC holds monthly meetings on the first (1st) Sunday of each month unless otherwise decided by the Executive Council.
