Wednesday Group

WEDNEDSAY-BORNS are delighted that the Corpus Christi Church started in the home of Mrs. Adelaide Otabil, a formidable member of our Group. About one-third of those who attended the maiden Mass were Wednesday-born-- Mrs. Hannah-Danquah-Smith, Mr. & Mrs. Fiaka, Messrs Appiah, Atta Karikari and Francis Azan-gbiok. The group started around mid-1991 when the Church decided to adopt the Day Group concept. With such dynamic fund-raisers as Mrs. Hannah Danquah-Smith, Messrs Kingsley Atta Karikari, S. K Appiah, Mrs. Mary Vormawor, Mr. and Mrs. Edem Fiaka, Mrs. Rita Saaka, Mrs. Adelaide Otabil, and Mrs. Mabel Quarshie, we continuously carried the day. Up to around 1995/6, the gap was usually so wide that the rest of the day groups put together could hardly match our might, hence the attribute ‘Pacesetters’. Messrs Fiaka and Azan-gbiok were accordingly elected as Chairman and Secretary, respectively. They were re-affirmed to continue, until fixed terms were introduced in 1999. ..Read More
