After a number of years the Church mooted the idea of “Day Groups” to replace the concept of “Kofi and Ama” which was considered to be narrow in nature. It was argued that the Day Groups Concept was going to embrace other dimensions which hitherto had not been focused on. Any key among the reasons for the adoption of day group concept as explained then was that such groupings would create a better sense of togetherness and camaraderie among its members. The Church after thorough deliberations adopted the concept as a sound management tool to facilitate church administration. This was how the name of the Group known as THE FRIDAY GROUP of Corpus Christi Catholic Church at Community 13, Sakumono Estates now in the Tema Deanery of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra which is made up of all Friday borns or any member of the congregation who wishes to be part of its membership.
