The Ancient and Noble Order of the Knights of St. John International and Ladies Auxiliary of Knights of St. John International formally started up in New York in 1886. In our parish however, the KSJI and LAX were formed here at Corpus Christi Parish as offshoots of the St. Anthony Commandery No. 405, and our Lady of Mercy Auxiliary No. 340 Tema
As a process to Formation of the Commandery and Auxiliary in Corpus Christi, Brothers and Sisters of the Order who lived around and worshiped at the Corpus Christi Parish, organized themselves as a Zone which ultimately resulted in the formation, and inauguration of the Commandery and Auxiliary on the 25th of February 2006 with great pump and pageantry!
Today, the Knights, Ladies, Cadets, and Junior Auxiliary of St. International has grown in Numbers in the parish with 71 brothers, 70 sisters, 28 Cadets and 30 Junior Auxiliary and have jointly contributed immensely to the Growth of the Corpus Christi Parish. Some of our contributions to the growth of the Corpus Christi Parish include the building of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Altar, the building of St. Bakhita Altar, Contributions to St. Vincent the Paul, Blood Donation Exercises, Several Charities.
Furthermore, apart from helping by ensuring orderliness during events where management of human and vehicular traffic is required, we often add colour to such events. The Knights of St. John International and Ladies Auxiliary is committed to building the spiritual wellbeing of its members while defending the traditions of the Catholic church through lectures and various spiritual activities.
Both the KSJI and LAX have a strict membership process where potential candidates for membership must be outstanding Catholics and go through an initiation process.
