Welcome from the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Henry Mensah

Welcome to the website of the Corpus Christi Parish at Sakumono Estates in the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra.

I am honored to introduce to you the Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the wonderful people who have made the parish what it is today. The name of the parish, Corpus Christi, is the Latin translation for the “Body of Christ” which expression serves as the basis for responding to the call of Christ to remain united in His service and fellowship.

Together as priests and parishioners, we strive to do this through communal worship and parish activities feeding on His word and the Bread of Life.

As I present Corpus Christi Catholic Church to you, I use words like community, family and unity to show to you how we, as a group of Christians, constantly endeavour to serve as a spiritual support each other by sharing in fellowship through the church's instruction, formation and inspiration all expressed in the parish’s motto- Corpus Christi, Unity in Christ!

As you browse this website you will learn about our programs and Mass times and get a better glimpse of who we are as a parish. To fully understand us, we welcome you to join us at Mass or any of our spiritual/parish programs/activities and feel the love and unity that we profess in the Body of Christ as a family.

Enjoy the website, feel free to contact us and pray along with us for the intentions of the Holy Father- Pope Francis, the Metropolitan Archbishop - Gabriel Charles Palmer-Buckle and the Corpus Christi Church as a whole.

May God bless you!

Thanks for your question. Let me say it is out of pure ignorance. In reality they can’t call their pulpit ‘altar’ because they don’t have worship in their churches. The word “worship” means “to make or offer a sacrifice to... [ Read More ]
